A Research Assistant position is available in the School of Biomedical Sciences. The appointee will work on research projects related to mechanisms of cardiomyocyte differentiation, heart development, and heart regeneration. The projects will utilize cultured mammalian cells, zebrafish and mouse models, and adeno-associated viruses. The appointee will work closely with the Principal Investigator to carry out the research project.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences or related fields; (ii) basic research laboratory experience in molecular and cellular biology and biochemistry; (iii) excellent verbal and written communication skills; and (iv) proficiency in standard laboratory equipment and techniques required. Candidates with recent laboratory experience, basic molecular biology skills, CRISPR/Cas9, and experience with zebrafish handling will be desirable.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
