The Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering is currently looking for a Research Assistant (reporting to Dr. Dongkun HAN) in the related areas of computer science, computer engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning or data analytics to work on an artificial intelligent-based education project.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree; (ii) a good command of English and Chinese; (iii) strong communication skills; and (iv) strong interests in AI education. Knowledge and experience in machine learning, prediction algorithms, and website development will be preferred.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) developing or implementing AI prediction algorithm to categorize students’ learning levels for a specific course; (b) working with professors and student helpers to develop related website and courseware; (c) building a system to promote appropriate learning materials to students with a proper learning level; and (d) performing other tasks as assigned. The appointee will work at the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering and non-local appointee will be sponsored to apply for work visa in Hong Kong.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one or two years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.
