The Gerald Choa Neuroscience Institute (GCNI) is seeking highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow(s) / Research Associate(s) / Research Assistant(s) in Neuroscience to join a multidisciplinary team focused on auditory neuroscience research under the leadership of Prof Jan Schnupp (http://jan.schnupp.net). Early-and mid-career researchers with a keen interest in auditory perception, processing, pathology, and cochlear implant research are welcome to apply.
Applicants should have (i) a PhD in Neuroscience, Biomedical Science, Psychology, or Linguistics (or related field); (ii) strong willingness to actively contribute to experiments involving both human participants and animal models; (iii) experience or interest in mentoring and guiding junior group members; (iv) proficiency in coding, particularly Python or MATLAB; (v) good computing skills with experience in advanced signal processing techniques or data science; (vi) excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including proficiency in academic writing; and (vii) strong ability to work independently, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative in problem-solving and research exploration, with the goal of progressing towards an independent research role. Experience in electrophysiological and/or functional imaging work in humans or animals will be an advantage. Experience in psychoacoustic / behavioral studies is a plus. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant.
The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) participating in experiments involving human participants as well as animal models actively; (b) providing support including design, execution and analysis for research studies; (c) collaborating with team members and other stakeholders to advance research objectives; and (d) mentoring and supervising of juniors.
