The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS), working with more than 200 ophthalmologists and visual scientists in Hong Kong and Mainland China, is committed to advancing patient services, research, and training and education to the highest quality in all major areas of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. We are looking for candidates to take up positions in our clinical and research programmes on disease entities, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and other retina diseases. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in computer science related field; (ii) proficiency in machine learning or deep learning algorithms; (iii) strong programming skills of deep learning tools, e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.; and (iv) demonstrated responsibility, integrity, and high self-motivation. Experience in medical image analysis, deep learning algorithms, foundation model and generative artificial intelligence model development is an added advantage.
Duties include (a) undertaking research and development of deep learning algorithms, foundation model, and generative artificial intelligence model; (b) participating in medical image analysis projects and key technical challenges, providing corresponding technical support; and (c) participating in scientific research projects and encouraging the publication of high-quality papers.
