Applications are invited for the position of full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to join Prof. Qiming Zheng’s team in the Department of Geography and Resource Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in remote sensing, GIS, geography, environmental science or relevant field; (ii) an outstanding track record of publications with at least 2 first-author publications in JCR Q1 journals or 1 first-author publication in Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) Q1 journals; (iii)proficient experience in geospatial and data analysis, and computer programming (e.g., Matlab, Python, R, C++, etc.); (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English; (v) demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.Experience of remote sensing image processing, time series analysis, ML/DL, climate modeling, weather forecasting, land-use change modeling is preferred.
Appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) developing high-quality and original research in one of the following topics: Night-time Light Remote Sensing, Climate Change Mitigation, Global Environmental Changes, Urban Sustainability, and any relevant topic; (b) drafting proposals, reports, and presentations; and (c) performing other duties as assigned.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing September 2024, renewable subject to good performance.
