The Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering is currently looking for a Research Assistant in the field of robot control.
Applicants should have/be (i) a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Automation, or related disciplines; (ii) proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C++) and control system design tools; (iii) familiar with real-time systems, embedded systems, or robotic operating systems (ROS); (iv) strong problem-solving skills and project execution capability; and (v) self-motivation to work independently and co-operatively with other team members. Work experience in robotic control systems will be advantageous.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing technical support to design, simulation, and testing of control architectures for both hardware and software of medical robotic systems; (b) developing and implementing sensing and actuation systems for real-time control in medical environments; (c) assisting in testing and experimental evaluation of robotic control systems in medical applications; (d) co-operating with suppliers; and (e) assisting in purchasing and work preparation.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
