The RGC Areas of Excellence Center for Genomic Studies on Plant-Environment Interaction for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security envisions to address the environmental challenges posed to agriculture with scientific researches, and ultimately achieve sustainable agriculture and global food security, to create a better livelihood for all humankind. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Research Assistant or Junior Research Assistant.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, or a related discipline; (ii) strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently; (iii) excellent organisational skills and self-discipline; (iv) the ability to work collaboratively in a team; and (v) eagerness to learn and develop new skills. Experience in laboratory techniques and analytical methods would be advantageous.
The appointee will assist in a plant research project. Duties include (a) conducting analytical analyses and molecular experiments in the laboratory; (b) assisting in the design and execution of research projects’ (c) collecting, analysing, and interpreting experimental data; (d) maintaining accurate records of experiments and results; (e) cultivating and taking care of plant materials; (f) collaborating with team members and contributing to group discussions; (g) staying updated on relevant scientific literature and methodologies, and (h) performing other duties as assigned.
