The School of Journalism and Communication is seeking a self-motivated candidate with a strong interest in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability communication. The appointee should have a solid background in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, and preferably demonstrate proficiency in computational and big data analysis. The appointee will join the School’s research team and collaborate closely with faculty members on research projects related to CSR, sustainability practices, and the role of communication in corporate responsibility efforts.
Applicants should have (i) a Ph.D. degree in Communication or a related discipline (e.g., Media Studies, Marketing); (ii) prior research experience in CSR, sustainability communication, public relations, or related areas; (iii) strong written and oral communication skills in English; (iv) excellent organisational and interpersonal skills; and (v) a demonstrated record of research productivity. Experience with computational research will be an advantage.
The appointee will be responsible for coordinating and assisting in (a) developing and implementing research protocols for quantitative, qualitative, and computational studies focused on CSR and sustainability communication; (b) collecting, analysing, and interpreting data; (c) contributing to the dissemination of research findings through academic publications, conference presentations, and reports; (d) managing and coordinating the research team, including mentoring research assistants; and (e) performing other related tasks as assigned.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing August 2025, renewable subject to satisfactory performance, mutual agreement and budget availability.
