Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Law, History or a related discipline. Further degrees are a plus.
The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator, Professor Christopher Roberts, on a Hong Kong Research Grants Council funded project, titled “The Origins of Development: Anti-Colonial Resistance, Social Struggles and Labor Reform in the Interwar British Empire.”
The project will explore the intertwined histories of British politics, British imperial governance and developments at the international, League of Nations level in the interwar period. In addition to its historical component, the project will encompass the production of a policy reform report, aimed at simply and clearly presenting policy lessons that can be drawn from the history.
Duties include (a) conducting research; (b) supporting and participating in efforts aimed at publicly sharing information relating to transnational legal history; and (c) supporting the preparation and sharing of the policy reform report.
Appointment will be made on contract basis for one year commencing September 2025.
