The Department of Electronic Engineering (EE) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is seeking outstanding candidates for Research Assistant Professorship (RAP).
RESEARCH AREA OF INTEREST:
Robotics, Computer Vision, AI
Applicants should have:
(a) a Ph.D. degree in robotics, computer vision, AI or related disciplines;
(b) strong research accomplishments in grants and publications and active involvement in writing grant proposals;
(c) the potential to become an independent researcher in obtaining future/sustained extramural funding and establishing significant externally-funded research programmes;
(d) fluency in both written and spoken English, good organizational skills, the ability to work independently, a strong sense of responsibility and team spirit, and self-motivation;
(e) outstanding academic records/publications;
(f) substantial postdoctoral experience or equivalent qualification; and
(g) in-depth research and clear teaching statements.
The appointee will work closely with Professor Hongsheng Li in the Department to enhance the existing strengths. The appointee is expected to:
(i) be able to have top-tier research outputs and apply for RGC GRF grants and similar external competitive grants;
(ii) undertake some teaching duties at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and
(iii) provide service at departmental, faculty and/or university levels.
