The Department of Medicine and Therapeutics of The Chinese University of Hong Kong is recruiting clinical researchers in the field of Infectious Disease.
Applicants should have (i) a medical qualification (approved for full registration with The Medical Council of Hong Kong, or in the case of overseas graduates, a medical qualification that would be eligible for limited registration by the Medical Council of Hong Kong); (ii) a specialist qualification in Infectious Disease and Advanced Internal Medicine (Fellowship of the Hong Kong College of Physicians, or in the case of overseas graduates, having obtained specialist registration with the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine); (iii) a passion in using research to advance clinical care; (iv) good communication skills in planning, coordinating and conducting multidisciplinary projects; and (v) proficiency in Cantonese which is important for patient management. Duties include (a) conducting clinical research related to infectious diseases; (b) providing clinical services for patients in the hospital and outpatient clinics; and (c) providing undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in general medicine and infectious disease. The appointees will work at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin, Hong Kong.
Appointment is initially made on a contract basis for three years subject to renewal depending on performance and academic output including publications and grant applications. Applicants with less experience would be considered for appointment as Assistant Professor.
