The Department of Social Work at CUHK is hiring Senior Lecturer(s)/Lecturer(s)/Assistant Lecturer(s). Applicants should (i) have a higher degree (for Senior Lecturer and Lecturer: a doctoral degree; for Assistant Lecturer: a Master’s degree) in social work or a related discipline; (ii) have at least eight years post-doctoral degree (for Senior Lecturer)/ four years post-master’s degree (for Lecturer) of teaching/professional experience and a proven record of teaching excellence (for Senior Lecturer); (iii) be registered social workers; (iv) have at least five years’ post-social work degree experience in social work practice in one or more of the following areas: human behavior and the social environment; family services; family counselling; family intervention; social policy; social welfare administration; micro social work service; medical social work; mental health; and rehabilitation; (v) demonstrate ability for high quality teaching of undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses; and (vi) show firm commitment to social work education as well as excellence in teaching and scholarship.
The appointees will (a) teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses during daytime and evening; (b) supervise and coordinate students’ fieldwork in social service agencies; (c) assist in curriculum development; and (d) contribute their practical experience to teaching and curriculum design.
Appointments will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years commencing August 2025, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
